Maintenance is required for all aerobic septic systems at least three times a year which equals once every four months. The schedule starts with the first check four months from the start of the contract. A service tag hangs on the control panel which shows a sequence of numbers to record scheduled service checks.
At the top of the tag are numbers that represent years, for example 14 = 2014. Below the years are abbreviated months, the year and abbreviated month that is punched out represents the start date of your service contract.
Below the service contract start date are the numbers 1-12 which correspond to the month followed by numbers 1-31 which correspond to the day. On the day the your system was checked the corresponding number for the month and day will be punched out.
In the example below, the contract started in January of 2014 and the first service on was performed on April 15th. This ensures that the service provider was physically on site and the county authority can check this tag periodically.
Note: Your move in dates and contract dates may vary, causing your contract dates to look different than what you expected. The contract dates are based on final inspection with the county by law and warranty dates are based on date of installation per manufacturer.
